» company have recently organized a fantastic extreme expedition to the South America, into the deep wilderness of
the Amazon.
– one of the most extraordinary rivers in the world. Not only is it the largest by volume and most full-flowing river in the world, but it’s also considered to be the cradle of Incas – ancient and powerful civilization whose history created various myths,
legends
legends and mysteries. Many Amazon’s territories are still considered totally wild and unexplored.
Or expedition is NOT a usual “all-inclusive” journey. The trip consiststed of traveling into three countries: Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. It was an extreme voyage where participants visited the actual active volcano and geyser valleys; then canoe down the Pastaza and Morona rivers until you get to Iquitos, Peru. Morona’s basin (one of the Amazon’s tributaries) is an area that’s utterly hard to get to. Those wild territories are not even under Peru’s government. The area is attractive for its nature’s virginity and, what’s more, for its legendary past. It’s Morona’s territory that the Amazons’ tribe once lived on. Moreover, the area still has the secret system of underground tunnels, once guarded by Amerindians; the tunnels extend many hundreds of kilometers below the surface. During the trip we got to visit many frightful and fascinating places, saw
the aborigines
and
wild animals.
Expedition’s plans included exploring flora and fauna of the territories, untouched by humans hand; we also planed to follow the track of ancient legends. The expedition was provided with armed escort

One of the most fascinating mammals of the Amazon River is
a pink dolphin.
There are many legends about this mysterious animal. The most popular tells us a story about the dolphins turning into beautiful men during a full moon and seducing local girls. Another myth tells that a spirit of a drowned man comes into a dolphin’s body that soon transforms into a handsome stranger. Unfortunately, even a mystical pink dolphin cannot protect itself from numerous poachers that kill those animals for profit. Their genitals are considered aphrodisiac, and a struggle for the survival of this species continues. The desire to attract society’s attention to the problem of the species’ extinction due to humans’ greed is what prompted us to choose a pink dolphin as a symbol of our expedition.
Expedition In Search of a Pink Dolphin has received the aegis of
World Encyclopedia of Travel (WET), Russia’s Presidential grant receiver.
